MikeMr. Scalzo has been practicing law for more than 30 years, concentrating in family law and civil litigation.  He has tried dozens of cases to verdict and through the appellate process.  More importantly, he has negotiated favorable settlements on behalf of his clients and avoided litigation.

He is a court appointed divorce mediator in DuPage County and has successfully mediated hundreds of cases.  He is also a court approved civil law mediator and has mediated cases involving hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Also, he is a chair-qualified arbitrator of major cases in the court-annexed arbitration program.  He frequently is court-appointed as a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) and frequently acts on behalf of minor children in various court proceedings.  Since 2002, Mr. Scalzo has been an active practitioner of Collaborative Law in resolving disputes respectfully and responsibly without court intervention.

Mr. Scalzo served in the U.S. Air Force as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps.  He is married, has four adult sons, and nine grandchildren.  He enjoys reading, playing bridge, bike riding, and spending time with his family.
